Dykstra Orchards was started by Ed Dykstra in 1946, at the age of 16. In 1987, two of his sons joined Ed in farming the orchards. Eventually, the running of the farm was left to the two brothers. In 2002, both brothers were ready to explore other opportunites and decided to lease the orchards to another area farmer. As it turns out, the old saying is true, and you can’t take the farm out of a boy. In 2006, the two brothers decided to plant some Christmas trees where an old orchard had been pushed out.  Fast forward to 2014, and there were some beautiful trees ready for cutting. Dykstra Christmas Trees is a joint project between a father and his daughter, and their families. We had so much fun helping families select and cut their trees last year, and sharing fun memories with people. We are looking forward to seeing what this year brings! The orchards are still being actively farmed, but over the past years we  have been working hard to add a few new twists to the old farm.
